W3cacheThe pace of the success depends very much of the quality of the service delivered to end users. The hardware for example should be adequate for its utilization needs. Currently we are using hardware platforms kindly lent by hosting institutions, but these are both used for other purposes and scarce in disk space.
The more users will feel confident that they benefit from using the cache, the more popular it will be and the higher will be the hit rate and eventually the overall efficiency of the project.
Important factors in achieving this include: stable and fast hardware platforms, plentiful bandwidth on links dedicated to (or used by) the caches, stable software and committed administration, adequate memory and disk space and last but not least a well architected structural solution.
