WWW Cache in Poland

The Backbone - internal structure

Currently the backbone consists of a level 0 (national) cache (sunsite.icm.edu.pl:8080) and a growing number of level 1 (metropolitan) caches. The objective is to have one (or two neigbouring) level 1 cache in each major MAN area. All of these are to be stable installations, based on adequate hardware platforms. Eventually the level 1 cache sites would be connected with dedicated backbone links providing a fast and reliable WWW backbone.

Level 1 caches are used by end users of their respective service areas and by level 2 (private) caches serving their individual institutions.

Currently W3cache has established a mutual parents arrangements with some other similar projects, including:
